  • Share Street parking seems to always be very utilized on this stretch of the road, so I can understand why it is preferred by many to keep it. I would however like to see the street slightly widened and parking only on one side enforced as too many times you weave in and out of the parked cars. It would be nice if the road was a little wider so that you didn’t have to stop behind the parked cars when there is an oncoming vehicle. I don’t feel designated bike lanes are needed because they don’t connect anywhere else. I love the idea if more of the town had them. Very much appreciate having the four way stop at 4th and 19th. I think people are finally realizing that it’s there as they are not running through it as much anymore. Anything to slow traffic down on the avenue is a good idea. Looking forward to finally getting the avenue repaired. The frost certainly does a number on this road every year and that in turn has done a number on our vehicles. on Facebook Share Street parking seems to always be very utilized on this stretch of the road, so I can understand why it is preferred by many to keep it. • Share I agree with the previous post. On street parking is a real need. I really don't want to see any trees come down. It doesn't seem to be a good use of tax payer dollars to put in bike lanes and paths for only a short stretch of road. On Alpha Street the path was added and now there is only the sidewalk plowed. Not much sense with all the rest if you don't use it. on Facebook Share I agree with the previous post. On street parking is a real need. I really don't want to see any trees come down. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If you are able, please consider attending the PIC tomorrow evening to learn more about the various options being considered. It will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at First United Church, 435 21st Street W, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

  • Share Street parking is heavily used in this area for school and daycare pick up and drop off and anytime there is an event at kelso beach. Losing street parking would negatively impact almost every house on the street as some houses have limited parking space and rely on the street parking for all visitors to their home. Option three shows an enlarged pathway on the east side which will come very close to the front steps of multiple homes on the east side of the road has a consideration been given to how close some of the homes are to the right of way? A better way to ensure traffic calming would be to actually have an officer present more as anytime there is one present they ticket numerous vehicles. Lights at 4th and 19th would also be a much better option then the four way stop presently installed which sees multiple accidents every year. Have traffic lights been considered? There is also already a bike path on 2nd ave west that bicyclists could use. I don’t see the benefit of adding just a few blocks of multiple cycling lanes. on Facebook Share Street parking is heavily used in this area for school and daycare pick up and drop off and anytime there is an event at kelso beach.
